Monday-Presidents’ day
Tuesday- Inservice for teachers
Wednesday- We worked through lesson 7-8 and reviewed for the test. HW: Study 7-5, 7-6, 7-7, and 7-8.
Thursday- We took our test. There is no homework.

1. Go to thinklinklearning.com and click on the progress zone. You will then be instructed to type in your code. The code changes each week.
2. Answer the 10 practice questions.
3. Once finished answer the 10 questions, print or write the results on a sheet of paper and have a PARENT SIGN IT EACH WEEK. Practice Probes will not be accepted that do not have a parent signature.
4. Students will not be graded on the number correct or incorrect, but just on completing the probe.
5. Students can not go back and make up missed probes unless they were absent due to illness or some other type of extenuating circumstance.
6. We will do one each week until TCAP time in April.
7. These probes are designed to help increase your child’s TCAP scores and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

HW-Science in the News due Friday and Practice Probe #1 due Friday. To start the practice probe go to thinklinklearning.com, click on the yellow progress zone, and type in the code. The code for this week is QC3813. I also sent home an instructional sheet and this is information is also located on my blog site.

This Friday, February 13th, Mrs. Hammond and students will enjoy a Valentine Treat Day. (Sorry, no parents included this time!)
Each student should bring in a small happy/treat for each student in the class (24).

Monday- We discussed %, fractions and decimals-Lesson 7-5. We used calculators. No hw.
Tuesday- We reviewed lesson 7-5 from yesterday and took a quiz. Lesson 7-6 HW: 374-375 (4-24) answers only–Use a calculator if needed.

Wednesday- We worked on TCAP review. We checked and reviewed last night’s homework. We then worked on some calculator words. No homework.

Monday, Feb. 9: All classes: Reviewed Wordly Wise 8 words and completed quiz on definitions. Test tomorrow over this lesson. Previewed book The Cay, which we will be reading next. Received first notes from Grammar series, entitled Monday Notes – Parts of Speech. Students are to study these notes tonight for homework. Reading Logs were turned in for check grade today.
Tuesday, Feb. 10: All classes: Test on Wordly Wise lesson I. Received “Tuesday Notes” for Grammar. Began with first activity for binder. Students are to review notes for homework. Homework: Crossword review of Lessons 5-8 due tomorrow.
Wednesday, Feb. 11 All Classes: Homework: Flash card for Wordly Wise lesson 9. Brainpop videos and quizzes.
Thursday, Feb. 12 All classes: Brainpop videos Clauses and Punctuation. Completed quizzes on these. Received Thursday grammar notes. Homework: Wordly Wise lesson 9 part A. Please remember to bring in any supplies you are asked to supply for the Valentine’s Treat Day. Thank you!
Friday, Feb. 13 All classes: We completed and turned in our Start up for the week about grammar. We also completed a writing activity for a classwork grade. No homework over the long weekend. See you Wednesday for LIBRARY!
The CMS 6th grade Science Fair is Tuesday, February 10th from 5:00-6:00 in the school cafeteria. Students can start taking projects home at 5:30. Good Luck to ALL!!! 1ST, 2ND, 3RD and 4TH place projects are eligible for the Memphis/Shelby County Science Fair at the fairgrounds.
