1/23/09 Friday- Materials and Procedures for Science Fair Project will be checked. Extra credit will be given for a parent signature. Take the Chapters 8 and 9 Test.

Reminder: All Reading Logs will be checked for a grade quickly in class each Monday. With the confusion over missing school yesterday, I will accept these tomorrow as well (Wednesday).
ALL CLASSES: 4H speech winners from each class should be receiving their invitation in the mail for the 4H County Competition. Please understand that this is highly competitive and time-consuming, but it is a wonderful experience for the students. Students who arrive and register earlier will speak earlier, and you may leave after speaking if you need to. Judging and awards are made that evening, so this often runs quite late. Students who attend will receive 100 extra credit quiz grade. This is the information in the letter:

Congratulations! As a winner of the local school contest, your child is
being invited to compete at the 2009 Shelby County 4-H Public Speaking
Contest. The participant should use the same speech topic for the county
competition. We do encourage the member to add or delete to the existing
speech to improve the quality before competing at the county level. The
4-H member will be timed at the county level. Time limits are as follows:
4th 1-2 minutes
5th 2-3 minutes
6th 3-4 minutes
7th -8th 3-5 minutes
9th -12th 5-7 minutes (plus extemporaneous question)
Please arrive at the Agricenter between 5:00-5:45 pm to register. The
contest will begin promptly at
6:00 pm. Your family members and friends are welcome.
After all speeches are made in their respective grade level competitions,
winners will be announced and ribbons presented. Trophies for 1st, 2nd and
3rd place winners in each grade will be awarded at the 4-H Recognition
Banquet in December, 2009.

Class A: Complete reading of book. Information on project to create a mock web site. Your illustration should include all the information needed to advertise for or against The Man in the Yellow Suit selling the water on the internet. Due Monday.
Class B,C,D: Complete reading of book. Information on project to create an acrostic for one of the main characters in the book, Tuck Everlasting. Due Monday.
