HW: Create Word Sort with Spelling List #2. (Make chart of ways to spell long vowel sounds, then list each spelling word under the correct heading. Ex.: ai–bait, praise, ea-peach, breathe, etc.
Grammar workbook p. 1 Nouns
Reading workbook -Read and answer margin activities for pages 21-25 (first half of “The Stone”) This will be checked in class.

Wednesday: Checked Word sort. Checked grammar workbook p.1. Completed grammar diagnostic test (for classwork grade) in Grammar textbook, p. 293.
Homework: Define spelling words, List 2. Finish reading “The Stone” and completing workbook pages 21-26 (margin activities).

Thursday: Review spelling definitions. Discuss story, “The Stone”.
Homework: Study spelling words for test. Study notes for “The Stone”, test on Friday.

Friday: Spelling test #2. Test on “The Stone”. Turned in Start Up for the week. Turned in Spelling worksheet 94. Homework: Language Arts binder check and homework folder check on Monday. Bring in your READING LOG for Mrs. Hammond to spot check for a homework grade. This will be turned in later for a quiz grade.

Tuesday 9-2-08 Today we worked on Division of decimals to prepare for our test tomorrow. The test covers A/S/M/D of decimals. Study.

Wed. 9-3-08 Test today. No Hw

Tomorrow is the 2nd turn in day for Sally Foster and Entertainment Books.

Thursday 9-4-08 We worked on powers and exponents. HW: WB Lesson 1-4-Practice side only.

Friday 9-5-08 We checked last night’s hw and took a quiz. We began working on order of operations–No HW>

Tuesday 9-2-08 Today we studied word problems. HW: p. 6 (6-19)

Wednesday 9-3-08 We checked our hw and worked at the board. CW/HW was to complete pages 14 and 29 from a classroom workbook. Class A was allowed to take these home to complete the work.

Thursday 9-4-08 We worked on divisibility rules.  HW:  Complete Divis. Chart. p. 12 17-26)

Friday 9-5-08 We checked HW and took a quiz.  We began the next lesson onPrime and composite numbers.  No hw.
